I love flowers! Yep, I love them. Fresh flowers can brighten up any table or room. Unfortunately getting decent flowers on a budget can be tricky. If you get lucky you can get flowers at Aldi’s as long as you get them either the day the store gets their delivery, or the next day. Otherwise they are already wilting.
As we were out getting some of my Birthday Freebies (love birthday freebies), we stopped in Trader Joes to get some of their oh-so-delicious Cookie Butter spread. I was so surprised and happy to see the vast array of fresh-cut flowers they have. They had bunches of roses, carnations, daisies, sunflowers and more!
What’s even better? The price. Bunches ranges from $3.99 – $9.99. My favorite group (or bunch) by far was the sunflower bouquets. For only $5.99, I got a beautiful fresh flower bouquet filled with sunflower, daisies, carnations and more!
Next time your near Trader Joes and would like to brighten up your day, stop in and grab a flower bouquet!

Thanks our friends at IBotta for sharing some great Tips in getting ready for back to school!
5 Back to School Shopping Tips
Courtesy of Allie Kranick of Ibotta
Back to School shopping brings not only the end of the summer, but also a stack of bills from everything needed to get the school year started. Although there is no way to eliminate all of the costs, there are some easy ways to get the
most bang for your buck.
Try some of these Back to School shopping tips to help you save extra cash as you gear up for fall:
- Scope out end of summer sales. Many summer clothes can be transitioned and layered into the fall, so hit
up end of summer sales and stock up on extra short sleeve shirts. There are also many sales at the end of August or post Labor Day, so try to wait until then to buy school supplies. In the meantime, send your kids to school with office supplies you already have around the house.
- Hunt for deals on mobile saving apps. There are many great retail and grocery apps that are designed to help you save. Check out Ibotta, a free mobile shopping app that allows you to earn cash on groceries for lunches and quick dinners, supplies, clothes, and more.
- Shop at home first. Before heading out to stores, first look around your own house for extra or lightly
used office supplies that can be utilized as school supplies. This will help minimize buying unnecessary items and also clean up your house.
- Search for books online. As kids get older, more books are needed for school, and those can quickly add up
and become costly. Instead of buying books through schools, first search for them online at a discounted rate. Amazon and Barnes and Noble both offer new and gently used books at a more reasonable price.
- Organize a swap! Organize a clothing and school supply swap with other moms in your area. Suggest setting
criteria ahead of time, such as bringing five items and getting five items, so everyone leaves with an even share of new things.
Using some or all of these tips is sure to help make this Back to School season a breeze, and less stressful on both you and your checkbook.
