About Me

Welcome to my new blog! I created this blog in an effort to help family and friends stretch their dollar as far as they can. There are some incredible blog saving websites already in place, however, from a local level it has been a bit more difficult to find grocery deals. So I would like to bring in our local frugal find’s (Western New York) along with the national level finds (which may come from other fantastic bloggers, and I will always make sure to give credit where credit is due) to give my readers the best chance at stretching their dollars. Now a days, who wouldn’t love some great deals!!

As you probably guessed, my name is Tricia. I have been blessed with an amazing family. My husband of 7 years, and two beautiful daughters who are 6 and 4 years of age as of now. Previously I worked for 7+ years in a corporate environment. My decision to leave that career was not easy, but necessary. I was missing my daughters lives! I was working everyday until 5:30, then after picking them up and/or driving home, I would go straight to making dinner. After the days were done, I literally spent one hour a day with them (Including bath & bedtime). Well shortly after my youngest 1st birthday she was diagnosed with a development disability. That was it for me! I realized that no amount of money could be worth it when my children needed me the most! So I left that world behind 2 years ago and have not looked back since! I am happy to say that it has made a huge difference in my daughters. Both of them are happy and well-adjusted and my oldest is doing great in school, and my youngest is getting all the help she needs to beat her delay.

I have no regrets for what I did. However, our family finance’s took a major hit. When I left my career, our income basically dropped to near poverty levels. So I knew I had to help my husband in any way I could to help our family expenses. I buckled down and said enough is enough, I am cutting coupons and buying only sale or non-name brand items. Since then, we have come a long way. I know how to manage our family of four with less money than we ever had, but keep our daily life going without sacrificing a lot. I have to give thanks to all the awesome bloggers out there who tirelessly work to get everyone the best deals. They are a second family to me now!

Thank-you so much for visiting  my website. If you have any deals you would like to share or have any comments, please feel free to leave me a message!

Couponing is not a bad thing.  It should not be viewed as a burden or viewed negatively by anyone at any store. Following each individual store coupon policies, along with great deals, we are going to have a great time saving money!

I look forward to a great frugal find year! Thank-you and enjoy!

  1. It’s great to have a blogger from Western NY! I have been a couponer/refunder for many years and enjoy sharing great deals with my family and friends. Good luck to you. I look forward to reading your blog.

    • Thanks so much Donna! I appreciate your kind words and look forward to bringing as many local/national deals as I can. As a fellow couponer if you have any tips or tricks of the trade, I would love to hear any and all. Thanks again!

  2. Hi Tricia!

I saw your link at MSMom and needed to get the low down on Tops. I’m in Cooperstown and the P&C is slowly making their migration into Top’s… I’m a huge fan of Aldi’s but Tops is closer so I might have to learn their ropes!

Great to meet another UNY blogger!

    • Hi Sharon, I am so excited to hear from you! Cooperstown is that near Utica? Let me know if I can help in anyway with Tops. Like all stores I guess, there are good and bad things, but I think knowing their policy helps! I also love Aldi’s, who can beat their bread prices, right :-) It’s great to meet you and your blog is beautiful, great job!

  3. A Western NY blogger Thank God!! Everyone I see blogging about coupons is from the south. Love the South but they dont seem to have Tops and
Wegmans. Thank you for all the hard work. Looking to forward your site to all my friends who are as crazy as I am about a deal. :o )

  4. I recently have discovered your blog and I appreciate everything that you do! WNY needed this – thank you!

  5. I just started the coupon game a few weeks ago and noticed that most of the blogs and websites are from the south and didn’t have much for Wegmans. I’m so glad I found your site. :)

  6. THANK YOU so much for your blog!! I am new to couponing! My family’s finances have taken a HUGE hit and I am trying to help wherever I can. Like everyone else I was getting frustrated looking at all the other bloggers for the south and midwest! I am so thankful for someone in WNY! I am so glad I found you! Keep the tips coming!

  7. THANKS GOODNESS I FOUND YOU! I MOVED BACK TO THE ROCHESTER AREA BACK IN NOVEMBER FROM ALABAMA AND ALL THE COUPON SITES WERE FROM THE SOUTH, SO ITS TAKEN ME THIS LONG TO FIND A GOOD WNY COUPONING BLOG!!! THANKS TO YOU!!!

  8. Just stumbled onto your blog today and am so excited to see a Western New York-based blog!! I’ve recently started upping my savings/ couponing efforts, and will take all the help I can get. :)

  9. Hi Tricia I stumbled upon your site the other day when I wrote to you about the freschetta pizza. I was just reading your blogs and about you and you hit very close to my home as well I have been doing coupons probaly for about 5 months now and I work full time and have 4 children and a husband that has a disability. Do you ever get any coupons for produce or meats other than lunch meats lol. Will continue to watch and read your site, your awesome.

  10. I was so excited to find your website. I’ve just started to get into couponing, and usually the blogs I find never have Wegmans or Tops. I’m so glad to have someone from WNY!!!

  11. Tricia, <
Thank you for your sharing !!! I am really moved while reading your post :) . Feeling closer to you now more than ever before :*:*
Love you and kisses to your little daughters !!!

  12. My Husband Dan told me about your site today so I’m checking it out…any tricks you can share would be wonderful…he told me about the Smuckers deal…how does that work? I’m intrested in doing that for the Ronald McDonald House…feel free to send me an email if you wish…always looking to save money!!

    • HI Jamie welcome to TFF :-) I’m so glad you are here and I’m glad Dan stopped in today! We are here to help in anyway we can by saving as much money on our grocery and everyday needs. I post weekly Tops matchups with the sales ad and coupons on Sunday’s (sometimes earlier). This week was a great week to get Smucker’s jelly, I will email some info on that.

  13. ALWAYS looking for diaper (pampers) coupons!

  14. I have been couponing for a couple of months. I am about ready to my give up. With a single income and a family of 6, food is the one area I can’t seem to save on. I love couponing just wish I could save more on food. Seems I am spending more now, than I did on store brand items and Aldi’s. Please don’t laugh, but I am wondering is it unrealistic to ever been like the people on TV. Doesn’t seem possible in our area (southernteir). I do love your site thank you for the time and effort you put into it.

    • Jen, thanks so much for the comment. I am so sorry that you are ready to give up, but I would encourage you not to. First off I would never laugh at any question, and your question is a very good one. Do I think it’s possible in our area (Western NY), NO not to that level. Unfortunately Tops/Wegmans has a lot of coupon limitations.. only 4 coupons doubled, only 6 like coupons in one transaction, no overages, and so on. But I do believe that we can save at least 50% if not more on groceries using our coupons and knowledge. It takes some time, but I have managed to cut our grocery bill (we are a family of 4) from $450.00 to $200.00 a month (more than 50% savings). That includes meats, vegetables and health and beauty items.

I realize everyone’s couponing needs and wants vary greatly, but I do believe we can help each other and save as much money as we can here in Western New York. I would be happy to help you in anyway I can :-) Hang in there!

  15. Hi there

I am so glad to have found your site. I too am from western ny and it is hard to find help with deals in our area. I am wondering if you have any suggestions on coupon trading sites? I get tons of coupons, many of which I dont use and I hate throwing them away but I dont know anyone else that coupons that could use them. I didn’t realize tops policy was 6 like coupons. I was just there Saturday and used 10 like coupons and they didnt say a word about it. Ended up getting free pepsi max :) Love free .. We are a family of 6, 2 in diapers and one on formula.. so expenses are high . we try to cut as many corners as possible. Thanks for your great site

    • Hi Julie and welcome :-) !! I agree 100% that everyone needs to save money where they can! As far as unwanted coupons, I know that there are Coupon Swaps at times where people will bring in coupons they don’t use and trade in for ones they do. Also, something I would recommend is CoupsforTroops. They clip coupons both current and expired coupons and send them to our Military families overseas. I think this is a fantastic program as it helps our Military and their families.

  16. Hi Tricia and thank for for your help with TOPS because since I started this venture only 1 month ago i have only found you and 1 other Blogger from my area, WNY of course. I am from Hamburg and pretty soon they will be ready to have the re-grand opening of the Tops on McKinley, I hope to find some good deals with that. Also, would you be interested in running a “coupon train” from your site. I would be very interested. I have been clipping all the baby coupons I see and have no babies left (my kids are 13 and 9) I would love to be able to trade coupons with others for things I need more. Thanks Michelle

    • Hi Michelle.. Welcome and Thanks so much for checking into my little corner of the internet world :-) YES I would love to start a coupon trade for the site. I have talked about doing a coupon “swap” or a mailinng train would be great too. I open to any and all suggestions. I agree I have baby, dog, and other coupons that I would like to trade. Have you tried a coupon train before, and if so, how did it work? Thanks so much!

      • no, I have not but think that a coupon train would be pretty “cool” I have been asking everyone I have found about doing one. I’m pretty excited about being part of one. Michelle

        • I’m not sure what a coupon train is, but I’m familiar with swaps and I’d be interested as well (I’m in Cheektowaga).
Thanks Tricia for the local coupon matchups. I was so excited when I found coupon mom and then bummed out when I realized she doesn’t do Tops or Wegmans, so I was thrilled to find your blog.

          • Thanks so much Laura and welcome! I am hoping to put together a swap but time is usually against me :-) The coupon train is just basically an envelope of 50 coupons that gets sent from one house to another and each person that takes some replaces them with new ones so there’s always 50 in there.

  17. Hi Tricia! I’m a WNY blogger as well. I’m coming across more and more – it is great to see others in our area helping one another. I look forward to your content. :-)

  18. hi

  19. hi there i am new to this stuff would like it if some one couls help me on this stuff would like to get freebbie and other things if you can help me out . thank you

  20. I’m SO glad to find a WNY blog. I’ve searched and searched. I’m pretty new to couponing and to the Orchard Park area. I’m just in time for the Tops 50th Anniversary sale

  21. Thank you SO MUCH for doing this match up. I’ve been couponing for a few years now but mostly focused on Rite Aid, CVS, etc. While I’ve gotten great deals on cleaners, cosmetics and the like, I really haven’t saved that much on FOOD. I found your coupon match up list for Tops for the first time last week and this Saturday after work, went to Tops and my total BEFORE COUPONS= $114. AFTER COUPONS=$48!!!
I really want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Like many, my family has been hit with layoffs and while my husband and myself are back working, it is at a bit of a pay cut so your website is a Godsend. I appreciate all the work because I know that this has to take a while to do the coupon match ups. I wanted you to know that we are HUGELY appreciative of your efforts. You help a lot of people this way and we apprecite it.

    Thanx!
    Stacey

    • Ahh this message means the world to me. Thank-you so much for sharing your kind words. I’m eternally grateful to be able to help people even in the smallest way. Thank-you Stacey and congratulations on your Tops trip!! I hope that’s one of many more to come.
